Using Trades Help

You must be at least 16 and provide accurate details about yourself and your trade. You are responsible for everything posted from your account.

Zero tolerance for abuse

Do not post or send:

• Harassment, threats, hate speech or bullying
• Sexual, violent or otherwise inappropriate content
• Spam, scams, fraud or misleading advertising
• Fake profiles or false claims of qualification or certification
• Other people's photos, drawings or personal details without permission

Every post, reply and profile can be reported from its ⋮ menu, and you can block any member. We review reports within 24 hours and remove offending content and accounts without notice.

Advice is not professional certification

Answers on Trades Help are peer opinions from other tradespeople. They are not a substitute for a qualified inspection, current regulations, manufacturer instructions or statutory sign-off. Always work within your competence and the law — particularly for gas, electrical, structural and asbestos work. Trades Help is not liable for work carried out on the basis of advice found here.

Your content

You keep ownership of the photos and text you post, and grant Trades Help a licence to display them within the service. Deleting a post or your account removes that content.

Verified badges

A verified badge means we've reviewed evidence of a trade qualification or registration. It is not a guarantee of workmanship. Submitting false evidence results in permanent removal.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from the Profile screen. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms.
